I have been speaking to some ladies lately who all have grown children. When do we stop saying children??? So many of the women have issues with being able to see their grandchildren and have problems with their relationship with their own children. Now I heard so many stories that the spouses would give them very strict times to see the grandchildren or their own sons or daughters had no time to see them . It seems we raise our children to learn to fly like the birds and then we send them off to the world to have their own lives but there needs to be time set aside for the extended family. I have travelled in Europe a few times and see such a difference in the way families socialize. The grandparents are very involved. When I was little we always had a family dinner on Sundays for all the family. My grandparents were there and I was very close to them .I learned so many things about our family from my grandparents. So my thought is make time for the grandparents and your own parents no matter how old you are…….you just might be happier and learn a lot…. “Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family: Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.”
